Sharecat Platform 3.0.0 is here

This week we completed the largest production release in Sharecat’s history. Version 3.0.0 encompasses 733 development items across 19 major workstreams — a milestone that reflects years of work with customers in energy, oil and gas, chemicals, and utilities, and one that touches nearly every part of the platform.

At the core of this release is a comprehensive data validation framework that checks quality, change, and requirement compliance at the point of submission — before errors propagate downstream. The release also brings significant updates to reference data management, automated ID numbering, Explorer grid exports, completeness reporting, and access control.

• Exception values handling — approved deviations such as “N/A” bypass standard checks without degrading data quality scores
• Automated ID numbering and allocation — document and tag numbers generated and assigned automatically against workspace-defined schemas
• RDL auto-comment and revalidation — reference data changes automatically marked and propagated through to data quality
• References & Definitions (Class Library Manager) — significant updates to how classes, attributes, and relationships are managed across a workspace
• Attribute linking — richer document and tag relationships with link validation and unique identifier lookups
• Configurable Explorer grid exports — exports that faithfully reflect your active grid view including sorting, filtering, and column settings
• Tag completeness and trend reporting — new overview reports with self-service access management
• Role assignment transparency — clear separation of direct and inherited role assignments
• Field update restrictions — lock key fields such as tag and document numbers after creation
• Expanded migration and onboarding — faster workspace setup and data migration support
